Why should I get my air ducts professionally cleaned?
Only professionals
equipped with truck mount machines can thoroughly clean
up your air ducts. Air ducts are just like the
respiratory system of a human body. Through those hidden
air ducts, air circulates in your house - the air
conditioning system pumps up the hot air heated up in
the furnace in winter time and the cold air generated by
the cooling device in summer time, and sends it to the
vents around the house. When the air conditioning system
is running, contaminants like dust, pollen, pet hair and
animal dander would be brought into the system through
the return air vents. They would deposit in the air
ducts. Vents on the floor level are inevitably laden
with dirt and mud, brought in from the house doors or
just from your indoor plants. These contaminants will
eventually enter the air ducts in which they produce
mildews and germs that would jeopardize our health.
Since ordinary cleaning is not able to reach the very
deep inside of the air ducts, only professionals with
special machines can help you thoroughly clean up the
air conditioning system.

How often should I have my air ducts cleaned?
Your vents are fresh with dust mites and should be cleaned every 300-360 days.

Should I have my air ducts cleaned before I move in to my new house?
a) New Home
Yes. As your house is newly built, it's not unusual that
quite a lot of the construction debris like sawdust,
asbestos, and concrete lumps would remain in the air
ducts. Leaving them uncleaned would obstruct the airflow
in the ducts and then cause more dusts. So having your
air ducts cleaned would also result in lowering your
utility bill.
As a matter of a fact, most new houses are located in a
community that is under construction, which means its
environment is much dustier.
There is also a lot of white drywall dust, which causes
dry throat, migraines and sometimes more severe problems.
So it's a good suggestion to have your new house cleaned
before you move in.
b) Resale Home
Yes. You never know what might be in the vents or when
it may have been cleaned last. There is a lot of debris
collecting in your air ducts. You want to get rid of
all of the indoor air pollution for a healthier, cleaner
environment inside your home.
